Feel the Force

What is it?

A workshop for kids to make Star Wars props including stormtrooper helmets and lightsabers. The materials are mostly reused and repurposed.

The kids get a chance to make something that they can play-act with and imagine themselves as part of that fictional universe. They get to work with their hands and explore the possibilities of the materials, finding out what cardboard can and can’t be made to do, exploring how to achieve the effects they want to create and finding ways to make their objects their own by adding detail, texture and decoration.

Beforehand we explored simple ways to construct the props and prepared the materials, tools and some of the elements ready for the kids to start building.
